![]() ![]() My computer, laptop and Blu-ray players could be run at 2.4GHz, but they use the EX6200 or are wired. But does the LED mean the transmitter is bad or that it doesn't get any valid data? I don't know, but you should be able to test that. I only use that for my printer, so the use is light. I don't know what I would do in your situation. ![]() That may be the worst tale of problems I have ever read. I may have omitted something in error but I know this is a huge post already. If you need additional info, please let me know. I would so appreciate any help/suggestions anyone can give me. I have a pretty good working knowledge of Networking. I cannot find any threads on Google or AVS regarding similar issues. I've tried QoS on and off, different channels, etc, nothing works? I can't believe I've been unlucky enough to get 3 new routers that are defective. I've tried setting all devices with static IPs with the reservations in the settings as well, I've tried all devices on DHCP, and a mixture of both. I AM AT A LOSS! I have about 30 home network devices, approx. Hard reset and everything was working for a WEEK - thought I had found the issue. I relocated the router (about 4 feet - it was sitting horizontally and I mounted it on the wall). I was told to change the SSID and password which I did and it magically started working again. Again, no problems for about a week, then the gremlins came out again. ASUS tech support could not determine the issue, we did resets, etc but nothing worked. Again, it worked like a charm for about a week, then 2.4 dropped out. After struggling with the lag for another 2 weeks I returned the router and bought an ASUS RT-AC87R. I kept after Netgear to release a new FW to fix the issues with. 82 which did get me back online, but the lag returned. 92 came out and I lost connectivity completely. Tech support was of no help, then finally. It worked fine for about 2 weeks, then updated FW to. I made sure I had the latest firmware, but no luck getting 2.4 back online, even after factory resets. I had Charter (my ISP) come out and verified the modem, signal and speed was ok (104 down, 5 up) - so, it had to be the router. I was using the R7000 until about 2 months ago when the 2.4 channel dropped out. I switched to Netgear and have the R6300, R6300v2, R7000 and now the R7500. My background: I've had many routers, was a Linksys man for a long time until I actually needed tech support and got none. I apologize for the length of this post but will try and limit the info to what is necessary. I'm at my wits end and my network and internet is suffering and tech support is no longer of any assistance (really never was). I am humbly asking for help with my router situation. ![]()
